Ali Richards
Ali Richards is a photographic artist based in London.
Richards' work aims to display the intrusion of urban crudities and nature’s innate ability to adapt and overcome. Bodies of work include 'Playgrounds'.
In 2006 Ali Richards spent three months based at the Klondike Institute of Art & Culture in the central-west of the Canadian Yukon Territory close to neighbouring Alaska. Richards' photographs An Honest Hunt (2008) were taken in this outback wilderness, an isolated location populated by a small community.
Richards also recently curated a group show, Borderlands at the Schwartz Gallery in Tower Hamlets.
Richards' commission for Stream enabled her to work closely with local male residents in East Greenwich. Together they explored the theme, "A Moment's Peace'.
