A performative public art project on the Greenwich Peninsula undertaken by artist Jo Roberts as part of Stream’s Peninsula programme of commissions.
Adopting the persona of the Waterwoman of the Greenwich Peninsula, the artist took as her starting point the relationship of the Peninsula to the River Thames and sought to gather the opinions of local residents, schoolchildren and businesses about the current and future status of water in the area. The device of the cross-section became the artist’s methodology for traversing the Peninsula and for gathering a range of opinions as she encountered people on her walks.
Based on her collection of responses to questions about water, the artist is producing a unique Water Report as a limited edition art work.
