"We like the sound of your voice. And because we’re looking for participants for a local radio programme, we want to hear your opinion on whatever you think is the most important local issue of the moment." (project publicity)

Now Hear This Part 1
Now Hear This Part 2
Launched in March 2009, Now Hear This is a project by Holy Mountain, commissioned by Stream as part of our Peninsula programme.
Now Hear This will gather, amplify and debate the issues of importance to people who live or work in East Greenwich/ Greenwich Peninsula/ Charlton. A public call was issued between March and May 2009 for people to phone in 'despatches' about a burning issue connected to the local area and the changes affecting local residents. The project encouraged participants to record their despatch at a location relevant to the issue.
Despatches were then gathered together and a selection provided the focus for A Local Conversation, which was held at the East Greenwich Pleasaunce (see left). At the event, topics from the despatches were put on a menu, and visitors to the Pleasaunce were invited to discuss these and other issues in a conversational, cafe setting. Conversations were recorded, and a radio programme is currently being created by the artists to be broadcast to the wider community.
