The Big Woolwich TXT Game
The Big Woolwich TXT Game was a participatory art project that used storytelling and sms messaging to investigate the local area. Using mobile gaming technology, participants took part in a game that invited them to solve a series of clues and discover an unfolding story along the way.
Taking place aroundthe Woolwich Arsenal and the riverfront in July 2009, the Big Woolwich TXT game was not only an enjoyable and absorbing day out, but also a chance for local people to experience Woolwich in a new and exciting way.
The Big Woolwich TXT Game was created by Stream working with Fiona French from GameLab London based at the London Metropolitan University, and is the first in a programme of participative arts projects by Stream that explore outdoor gaming and mobile technologies as exciting ways for the public to learn and play in public space.
